about

when i write frick. songs, i'm typically at home sitting at my work desk strumming on my acoustic guitar when work is slow. when i come up with a new idea, i pull out my phone and record a video of me playing so i don't forget the song. then after work, i go into my bedroom and record the full version.

i usually come up with the instrumentation and vocal melody way before i write the song's actual lyrics. so in a few of these demos, i'm singing jibberish just so i can remind myself what the vocal melody is supposed to be when it's time to write lyrics.

this compilation is made up of the audio from those demo video recordings. enjoy the alternate music/lyrics (sometimes complete jibberish), the off-key singing, me talking to myself, and voice cracks.

also, i included a demo of a song that i was calling "alkaline trio" because i thought it sort of sounded like them. it was written for EP4 but i ended up not recording it and i probably won't come back to it, so i slapped it on here too for funsies.
